Tough Weekend for Yoder at Circuit of the Americas

The third round of the Toyota GR cup took place at the Circuit of the America’s in Texas over the weekend with Aidan Yoder driving the #44 LA Precision Segra Toyota.

After being blocked on his fastest lap in qualifying Aidan still managed to qualify in P12 for race 1.

Making a great start Aidan made up two places but as he headed into turn 12 attempting another pass, he misjudged his breaking point and made contact with another car then was hit by a further two cars eliminating him from the race.

With the car suffering substantial damage it was not possible for the team to repair the car at the track, so Aidan had to switch to the spare car for Sunday. Qualifying in P12 for Sunday's race Aidan also had a grid penalty of five places for the incident in race 1 meaning he would line up in P17.

A good start from Aidan saw him move up two places at the end of lap one and he set about chasing the leading group, by lap 13 he had moved into P13, but the safety car was required to recover a stricken car.  As the race resumed Aidan jumped into P10 and was now on the back of the leading group but another safety car was deployed to recover two more cars that had come together. Unfortunately, the the race finished under caution removing any chance to advance further and Aidan crossed the line in P10.
