Maiden win for Jesse Anttila in British GT4

Finnish racing driver Jesse Anttila secured his first podium in British GT4 with team mate Stephen Johansen in the Ultratek Team RJN Nissan at Rockingham this weekend by winning the GT4 Pro-Am race and finishing 2ndoverall in GT4.

Saturday was wet for practice and qualifying making conditions very challenging but the pair managed to qualify the Nissan 370z GT4 in 12thposition.

Sunday was dry and cold and with team mate Johansen taking the start light rain started to fall but Stephen made a great start and continued to push on slick tyres. After 43 laps the pit window opened for the mandatory driver swap also taking on fuel and new tyres. With the bit between his teeth Anttila began his charge through the field moving up to 2ndoverall also taking the lead of the Pro-Am category. The leading Ginetta was just a little too far in front for Anttila to catch and he ran out of laps settling for 2ndoverall at the flag but bringing Ultratek Team RJN their first outright podium in British GT4 Pro Am

The sister car driven by Martin Plowman and Kelvin Fletcher finished 2nd in the Pro-Am category making it a double celebration for the team with a one two finish.

Jesse Anttila - Car #54 Pro commented, " It is not possible to say a race is easy.; however, the car felt fantastic and made this race one of the easiest of my life. The boys at RJN gave me a fantastic car and Stephen did a great job, not only in qualifying but in the race, he was fast, consistent and clean which made my job simple. This is my first ever podium in the British GT Championship and hopefully the first of many alongside Stephen."
