Disappointing Weekend for Fielding and Macdonald
Go Motorsport Management drivers Sennan Fielding and Dean Macdonald endured a disappointing weekend at Silverstone for the British GT Silverstone 500.
Suffering technical issues on Friday and Saturday Fielding qualified 8thand Macdonald 14thin the 22 car GT4 grid. The team worked hard to fix both cars over night and on Sunday morning hopes were very high for a good result after the #86 Toyota of Macdonald and team mate Quinn and the #68 sister car of Fielding and Canning were first and second fastest in the morning warm up.
As the cars crossed the line to take the start Macdonald made a fantastic start passing 5 cars on the opening lap but as he went on to lap 2 the car developed a gearbox issue and Macdonald was forced to pit. The team worked hard to repair the issue but unfortunately, they were not successful and the car was retired. Things did not get much better for Fielding as a few laps later he was forced to pit with a front right stub axle failure causing him to lose a wheel, the team franticly replaced the failed part and Fielding was back out losing around 10 laps in the pits but unfortunately two laps later the Toyota GT86 suffered an engine failure and Fielding was forced to park the car.
The next round of the British GT Championship is at Spa, Belgium on 21st& 22ndof July
