Solid weekend for Max Bird
Go Motorsport Management driver Max Bird had another solid weekend at Silverstone over the weekend in the Protyre Ginetta GT5 Challenge.
Arriving at Silverstone after winning the last round at Thruxton Max was determined to bring home another great result, unfortunately a technical issue during qualifying meant he was only able to manage 14thin qualifying.
With a huge grid of 52 cars it was going to be a tall order for Max but as race one unfolded Max set about chasing down the leading pack. By lap 5 Max was already up to 9th,and still pushing to make up more places. By lap 8 he had picked off more cars and was now up to 7thand on the final lap picking off one more crossing the line in 6th.
Race two Bird lined up in 6thon the grid and from lap one was in a hard battle with the 5th,6thand 7thplaced cars swapping positions for the next 10 laps and finally crossing the line in 8thplace.

“Overall I’m happy with what we achieved today as it was always going to be a case of damage limitation after the issues we had in qualifying which were out of my control, the team did a great job as usual and I will be working hard over the next month to prepare for the next race in Spa, Belgium to make sure I’m back on the podium”.
