Dean Macdonald Wins First Round of the British GT4 Championship
Go Motorsport Management Driver Dean Macdonald won the first round of the British GT4 Championship at Oulton park over the Easter weekend with new team mate Callum Pointon.
After switching teams over the winter Dean signed with HHC Motorsport to drive one of their McLaren GT4 570s race cars after driving the BMW and Toyota in 2018.
Qualifying in P3 for race one Macdonald made a good start and was soon into second place and chasing after the leader, a great move into the final corner saw Macdonald take the lead which he extended until he pitted for the mandatory driver swap midway through the race. After all the cars had made their stops Pointon was still in the lead but being chased by the two Toleman Motorsport McLaren’s however they were unable to catch #57 HHC Motorsport McLaren and Macdonald and Pointon took the chequered flag.
Dean Macdonald and team mate Callum Pointon now lead the GT4 drivers and Silver Cup Championship as they head into the next round.
The next race is at Snetterton on May 18 & 19
