Solid result for Hurst and Stanley at Donington
Aston Martin Racing Academy Drivers Ben Hurst and Micah Stanley secured a solid finish in the latest British GT round at Donington at the weekend driving their Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4.
The weekend got off to a troublesome start after mechanical issues in free practice 1 & 2 restricted their track time which then affected their qualifying. Micah managing a 1.35.917 and Ben a 1.36.770 in qualifying which once combined put the pairing in 19thoverall and 14thin the Silver class.
Hurst started the two-hour race but on lap 6 he was hit by one of the Jaguar GT4 cars and spun round. Luckily there was no damage and Hurst continued and set about regaining the lost time and after 60 minutes in the car he pitted on lap 37 to hand over to team mate Micah Stanley.
A perfect stop by the pairing in an extremely busy pit lane saw Stanley re-join on new tyres and with a clear track posted some very consistent lap times and crossed the line 12thover all and 7thin the Silver class.
The next round is at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium on the 20th& 21stof July
