Aidan Kenny Crowned Porsche Sprint Challenge North America Champion

Aidan Kenny was crowned champion at the final round of the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA), following two strong points finishes over the weekend.

Going into the final round with a 31-point lead Aidan had to score points in each round to be certain of taking the title and with a fourth and fifth place in the two races he scored enough points to take the title.

In only his first full season of car racing the 17-year-old from Windermere, Florida racked up 9 podiums, 6 wins and 6 pole positions finishing the championship 35 points ahead of his closest rival.

It was also a cause for celebration for his team, W2W Racing, as they achieved a 1-2 finish in the championship with Aidan’s teammate Mark Smith finishing 2nd overall.

Aidan Kenny

I’m so happy to have won this championship in my first full year of racing. Coming into the final round it was still possible for 3 or 4 drivers to win the championship so I had to race with that in mind as a non finish would have ended our challenge. I really have to thank W2W Racing who have given me a great race car at every round and worked tirelessly to achieve this results, also congratulations to my team mate Mark Smith who finished up 2nd in the championship .

I am now ready for the next chapter in my career, and my management team (Go Motorsport Management) and I are working on plans for 2023 which I hope to share in the coming months”.
