Aidan Kenny Dominates at Ozarks

16 Year old Go Motorsport Management driver Aidan Kenny dominated round two of the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America at Ozarks over the weekend.

Arriving at the new circuit in Missouri for some pre-event testing plans did not go so well with Aidan having two accidents, neither being his fault, the team worked tirelessly to build Aidan a race car in time for qualifying. The team did a magnificent job and with minimal time to learn the circuit Aidan qualified in pole position some 1.5 seconds ahead of the closest competitor.

In dry sunny weather the 40-minute race started at 3.15 local time with Aidan immediately taking the lead. For 3 laps Aidan held off the #119 car and started to build on his lead, as the race went on Aidan had built up a 10 second lead over the closest competitor but with 3 laps to go a full course yellow came out for a stricken car bunching the field back up. Unfortunately, they were not able to clear the car before the chequered flag was shown and the race ended under yellow given Aidan the win.

Race two scheduled for Sunday was cancelled due to severe weather that had come in deeming it too dangerous to race.

Aidan now has extended his lead in the championship as they head to the next round at Virginia International Raceway in June.

Aidan Kenny

“It’s been another great weekend for me and it’s great to extend our lead in the championship, it was a shame we didn’t get to race on Sunday but we will start preparing for the next race. I want to thank the team for working so hard after the accidents in practice, they gave me a great car for the race”.
