Another Podium for Stanley at Brands Hatch

Micah Stanley continued to impress as he achieved another podium at Brands Hatch in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship at the weekend.

Having never raced at the Brands Hatch Indy circuit and with limited testing it was going to be a very steep learning curve for Micah in such a competitive field of drivers.

After a difficult qualifying on the Saturday Micah lined up P6 in class for race 1 and with limited overtaking opportunities Stanley held the position at the flag

Stanley impressed in the second outing of the weekend and kept looking forward, starting again from 6th on the grid the 20-year-old was determined to make up positions and began climbing through the field, with only a handful of laps left he moved into third place in Pro Am and was challenging for second position only to run out of time crossing the line in a brilliant third place in the category.

Micah Stanley:

“I knew this was going to be a real challenge for me as I have never raced on this circuit, It’s such a short lap with minimal overtaking opportunities and no rest at all, its full on every lap.

I’m happy to have achieved another podium and I feel I’m getting quicker every time I get in the car. I’m looking forward to the next round as it’s a circuit I have raced at before”.

The Carrera Cup GB Championship heads to Oulton Park in a month’s time with two races taking place over the weekend of 31 July and 1 August.
