Dorlin Demonstrates Strong BTCC Pace Despite Tough Results

After showing strong pace throughout the weekend at Snetterton, British Touring Car Championship driver James Dorlin was left frustrated not to convert his speed into the results he deserved following a challenging race day on Sunday.
Dorlin immediately looked competitive from the outset, consistently running inside the top ten and demonstrating the pace to challenge further up the order on one of the BTCC calendar’s most demanding circuits. Positive progress through practice and qualifying gave the team confidence heading into race day, with James firmly in contention for a strong haul of championship points.
Race one saw Dorlin battle hard in the ultra-competitive midfield pack, where fractions of a second often separate multiple cars. Showing his trademark determination and racecraft, James remained firmly in the fight despite intense wheel-to-wheel action throughout the opening encounter.
However, the weekend began to unravel during race two when contact while battling in the pack compromised his race and ultimately ended hopes of capitalising on the strong speed shown earlier in the weekend. The incident left Dorlin unable to demonstrate the full potential of both car and driver across the remainder of the day, despite continuing to push hard in difficult circumstances.
While the final results did not reflect the pace shown throughout the weekend, there were still plenty of positives to take away from Snetterton. The underlying speed of the car, combined with James’ consistency and confidence behind the wheel, continues to show encouraging signs as the season progresses.
The team now turns its attention to Oulton Park, a circuit that proved to be one of its strongest venues last season, with confidence high that Dorlin can bounce back and return to challenging towards the front of the grid.
