Season Best Finish for De La Torre IV at Watkins Glen

Elias De la Torre IV achieved his best result of the season at Watkins Glen over the weekend with a P9 in race 1 of the Porsche Carrera Cup North America Championship.

Qualifying in a season best of P7 for Race 1 Elias ran with the leading pack in the early part of the race until car handling issues caused him to lose some pace towards the end crossing the line in a season best of P9.

Starting from P15 on the grid for race 2 Elias had his work cut out to improve on his starting position, contact from another car at the start also hampered his progress. With a string of lap times comparable to the leaders Elias made his way through to P12 until a full course yellow was shown for an accident on track and the race would ultimately finish behind the safety car ending any further chances to move up the field.

The next round of the Porsche Carrera Cup North America Championship is at Road America on July 29th & 30th.
