Branden Templeton and teammate Jack Collins celebrated their first victory of the season in the GT4 class of the British GT Championship with a standout performance at Oulton Park aboard the distinctive Century Motorsport BMW M4 GT4, affectionately nicknamed “Chomp”.
Starting from second on the grid, the dragon-liveried BMW entered the opening race as a strong contender after compensation time penalties for several of the championship’s leading crews created an opportunity at the front of the field.
Collins took the start from the outside of the front row, but an incident at turn one involving a spinning McLaren GT3 forced him onto the grass to avoid contact. Although he escaped without damage, the incident dropped the Century Motorsport BMW down to fifth in the early stages.
Undeterred, Collins quickly began fighting back through the order, carving his way past the McLaren Artura and returning to the top three before closing in on the race leaders as the pit window approached.
The race turned dramatically following contact that sent another GT4 contender into the barriers, triggering a lengthy Full Course Yellow period. The timing of the caution proved crucial, with Collins and Templeton perfectly positioned to complete their pit stop under reduced race speed conditions.
Templeton emerged from the pits in the lead and immediately came under pressure from the chasing Aston Martin, but the young Brit kept his composure to control the remainder of the race and secure a breakthrough maiden GT4 victory for the Century Motorsport duo.
Race two delivered more success for Templeton and Collins as they claimed an impressive third-place finish, capping off a fantastic weekend for the BMW M4 GT4 crew.
The result provides strong momentum heading into the next round of the championship at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps on June 20–21.
