W2W Racing to retain Aidan Kenny for 2023
Austin, TX- W2W Racing has re-signed 2022 Porsche Sprint Challenge North America Champion Aidan Kenny.
In only his first full season of car racing in 2022 the 17-year-old from Windermere, Florida racked up 9 podiums, 6 wins and 6 pole positions finishing the championship 35 points ahead of his closest rival driving the W2W Porsche Cayman 718 GT4 Clubsport, earning North American Champion rights for himself, and for his team.
For 2023 Aidan will move up to the Porsche 992 GT3 Cup car in the Pro-Am class of the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America Championship. The 992 GT3 Cup car is a very different car to the 718 Cayman which Aidan raced previously. The latest generation of GT3 Cup car from Porsche produces 510 horsepower from its 6 cylinder 4.0ltr engine and has significantly higher aero capabilities than previous generations.
The 2023 Championship will be run over 7 events (14 races) at some of North America’s premier race circuits starting at Sebring on March 25th, 2023.
Aidan Kenny “I’m really happy to be racing with W2W for another season, everyone on the team is super professional and I have no doubt they will give me all the tools that I need once again to get the job done. With all that said I have a lot of work to do to prepare for the season, it’s a totally new car to me with a lot more aero and power, I had my first test in the car last week and I was extremely happy with how everything went and can’t wait to continue my testing programme”.
Mark Martin W2W Racing- “We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with Aidan for another season, we have worked really hard with him over the last 18 months from the first test he did with us in the summer of 2021 to dominating the Championship this year. We love our young drivers, and we have extremely high hopes for Aidan as he progresses through the ranks of Professional racing”.
The Porsche Sprint Challenge North America starts at Sebring in March 2023 and will visit Barber Motorsports Park, Virginia International, Mid-Ohio, Road America, COTA and finish at Indianapolis in October.
