Yoder Equals Season Best Result at VIR

Aidan Yoder and teammate Jordan Missig equalled their season best result at Virginia International Raceway in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America Championship over the weekend with a superb P4 in race 2.

The final race on US soil of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo championship North America before the World Final in Portimao took place at Virginia International Raceway.

With limited practice due to red flags the race was going to be a challenge for Aidan as he last raced at VIR in 2020 in Formula 4.

Teammate Jordan Missig took the start for race one on Saturday from 8th on the grid but as they entered turn one, the #27 car misjudged his braking taking out several cars with Missig taking to the grass to avoid the incident, dropping him to P17. A strong recovery from Missig saw him up to P10 as the pit window opened for the driver change. With Yoder now behind the wheel he continued to push forward making up several positions to cross the line in P6 in the pro class.

For race 2 on Sunday Aidan started the race from P11, getting a great start he made up one position then passed two more cars and maintained the gap before the pit window opened. Now in a good position Aidan pitted on lap 14 to hand over to teammate Missig, an excellent pit stop saw them pick up more positions and Missig continued to push hard as the other cars made their stops and crossed the line in P4 in the Pro class and P5 overall equalling their season best result.

Aidan Yoder, No. 53 Prestige Performance with Wayne Taylor Racing (PRO) "Coming into the weekend I knew it would be important to leave on a high note since there is such a long period of downtime before Portugal. Leaving here with a good result would carry all the way overseas, and that was exactly what we were able to do. We tied our season best overall and the car kept improving every session. I’m doing my best to learn as much as I can from everyone around me since we had so many red flags in practice and limited running time. We had a lot to learn in a very short period. Thanks to all the engineers and Kyle and Danny for helping me out with that. In Race 2, we were ready to go and flying. It was about avoiding all the melee, as always. A big thank you goes out to Jordan for giving me a clean car in Race 1 and closing it out in Race 2. I’m feeling really good for Portimão because this was a great result for us."

The final round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Championship North America takes place in Portimao, Portugal on November 4th with the World Final on November 5th & 6th.
